The Shop

R & R Window Tinting was founded in 2018 by a single installer with a clear mission: to deliver high-quality window tinting backed by real-world experience and attention to detail. With 8 years in the industry at the time, the goal was simple — provide professional, honest service with results that speak for themselves.

We started with just window tinting and steadily expanded into paint protection film (PPF), vinyl, and ceramic coatings as demand grew and our team evolved. Today, we’re a dedicated crew of four, offering full-service tint and protection solutions for vehicles, homes, and commercial spaces.

Most jobs are completed in about two hours, and we’re usually able to schedule appointments within 24 hours of contact - because your time matters. From reducing heat and glare to protecting paint preserving privacy, we’re here to deliver clean, consistent results you can trust.

FAQs

Window Tinting

  • Yes, we offer free quotes! With information such as your vehicle’s make and model, the number of windows you want to be tinted, and film preferences, we can offer an accurate estimate for our service.

  • No. We only perform installs inside our clean, air-conditioned facility. This way we have complete control over the environment we install window film in. This is how you receive the most quality job.

  • The many benefits of window film include heat reduction, eye comfort, UV protection, aesthetics, and increased safety, privacy, and energy savings.

  • The amount of time varies, depending on your type of vehicle. A complete car can take 2 to 4 hours. Full-sized trucks generally take between an hour and an hour and a half. A set of front doors usually only takes 30-45 minutes.

If old aftermarket film has to be removed, that can add anywhere from 30 minutes to half a day.

  • Film percentages stand for visual light transmission (VLT), or the amount of light that is allowed through the film. The lower the percentage, the darker the film. With modern advances in window film, you can have great heat rejection with lighter films, no need to have a dark window tint to receive the heat rejection benefits.

  • Window film is installed on the inside of the glass. This allows for maximum durability

  • We recommend that you leave your vehicle windows rolled up for at least 48-72 hours after window film has been installed. This allows the film to cure and adhere to the glass before the window is moved.

  • After window film installation, wait a week before cleaning the inside of the window where the film was installed. After a week, use anti-static window film cleaner with a soft microfiber cloth.

Never scrape the film with any type of blade or clean your tinted windows with anything abrasive, as it will scratch the film.

  • The lifespan of window tint varies depending on the quality of the film and how well it is maintained. We offer top-quality LLumar® films that are designed to last longer than many alternative options. Our films can last anywhere from 10 to 15 years or more with proper care.

  • The warranty period can change based on the product applied.

Generally, a warranty will cover cracking, peeling, bubbling, delamination, fading, and color.

Some LLumar warranties are transferable and will continue with the car even in the event of an ownership change.

  • By law for sedans and coupes, the darkest films that we can put on your vehicle are 50% Visible Light Transmission (VLT) on the front two doors, 35% VLT on the back two doors and quarters, and 15% VLT on the back glass.

For trucks, vans, and SUVs, the darkest film that you are allowed to put on the vehicle is 50% VLT film on the front two doors. You may tint the back half of the vehicle as dark as you would like. For windshields, you may put a 5% VLT film on the front glass no lower than the AS1 line (a reference point, typically a few inches below the top edge, used to determine where tinting is legally permissible).

Paint Protection Film

  • Paint Protection Film can be professionally installed on any areas of your vehicle that are most vulnerable to damage to protect your vehicles finish from scratches, chips, stains and other damaging elements. You can protect rocker panels from stones and debris kicked up by tires; hoods, bumpers and mirror backs from flying debris (gravel, bug acids and tar); door handle cups and door edges from rings, keys, belt buckles and purses; or full hoods, trunks and roofs from bird droppings and tree sap.

  • We do not recommend adding any coatings that may interfere with film adhesion prior to having paint protection film installed. This includes any waxes, ceramic or other coatings.

  • Yes, you absolutely can. However, we recommend getting paint correction before applying PPF as it can magnify your vehicle’s imperfections.

  • While the edge of the film can be seen from certain angles, people generally do not notice it unless they are looking for it. However, if the car is dirty, dust and dirt can collect along the edge of the film and will be more noticeable. Once the car is cleaned, it will be once again difficult to detect unless looking for it.

  • LLumar PPF film self-heals scratches with sun and/or engine heat.

However, if a piece of debris has penetrated through the clear coat on the film, it will not self-heal. The only way to fix this would be to have the piece of film replaced.

  • Yes, but please wait at least 48 hours after installation to allow the film to dry completely.

  • Yes, pressure washers can be used on paint protection films, provided the film has completely dried after installation (typically 48 hours) and provided the high-pressure water is not pointed directly at the edges of the film.

  • Some waxes will add a level of gloss to matte paint protection film. However, there are waxes on the market specifically for matte finishes. Waxing is still recommended for added protection.

  • Caring for your Paint Protection Film is easy.

    • After film installation, wait one week before washing or waxing your vehicle to help ensure proper adhesion build of the film has been achieved.

    • Use waxes that do not contain dyes, abrasive polishes and/or rubbing compounds.

    • After waxing your car, you can remove any wax build-up along film edges with a lint-free cloth.

  • It is highly unlikely for paint protection film to harm OEM paint. That being said, it is still recommended to have a professional remove the film.

  • LLumar® Valor is backed by a 12-year manufacturer’s limited warranty.*

Louisiana Window Tint
Medical Exemptions

This section of the law outlines the conditions for obtaining a medical exemption for a motor vehicle registered in the state, allowing the vehicle to be equipped with sun screening material (window tint) that would otherwise be in violation of state law. In order to qualify for the exemption, the registered owner, spouse, or other family member operating or authorized to operate the vehicle must have an affidavit signed by a licensed optometrist or physician stating that the person has a physical or medical condition involving the effects of the sun that makes it necessary to equip the vehicle with such material. A copy of the affidavit must be kept in the vehicle at all times. The exemption may be subject to review every three years, unless otherwise deemed necessary by the department. Persons convicted of violent crimes or drug offenses are not eligible for the exemption.

Federal Energy-Efficient
Home Improvement Tax Credits

Select LLumar window films are now eligible for Federal Energy-Efficient Home Improvement Tax Credits as part of the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022.

This law makes homeowners eligible for a tax credit of 30% of the cost of materials for certain window films installed between January 1, 2023 through December 31, 2032, up to a maximum of $600 in a given year.

The tax credit is a direct dollar for dollar credit, or reduction, in the amount of taxes you must pay, not just a deduction in taxable income. Some restrictions apply, based on the type of windows installed in your home and your home’s location. See details for Qualifying LLumar and Vista window films below.

Also, see the IRS’s website for more details on eligible costs and other FAQs.
